i. What Verdie does

Built for the plants you actually keep.

Three things, done well — so every plant in your home gets the care it actually needs.

i.

Diagnose what's wrong.

Snap a photo of a struggling plant and get a clear answer — and the steps to fix it — in seconds.

ii.

Know your light.

Find out which spots in your home actually suit which plants — without guessing.

iii.

Water at the right time.

A watering plan tuned to each plant, each pot, and where it lives — so you stop guessing, and stop overwatering.

01. AI plant health diagnosis

Identification is just the beginning. Verdie tells you what's wrong.

Photograph a struggling plant. Verdie detects disease, pests, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress — each with a severity score and a concrete fix-it plan tuned to your exact species.

Fix-it plan · Mossy (Calathea)
7 / 10
1
Flush the pot with filtered or rainwater for 90 seconds. Calatheas are sensitive to tap-water minerals.
2
Move two feet from the window. Current light reading is too high — leaves are scorching at the tips.
3
Resume feeding in 14 days with a quarter-strength balanced fertilizer.
02. Phone-as-lux-meter

Your camera is already a light meter — we just taught it to translate.

Point your phone where your plant sits. Verdie reads the camera's exposure data, converts raw lux into plant-friendly tiers, and maps each tier directly to species requirements — no extra hardware.

03. Vitality at a glance

Three rings. Everything your plant feels.

Water, light, and feeding — each plant's full state in one look. Tap any ring for the why behind the number: pot size, soil mix, your phone's measured light, recent logs, season. No guesswork, no overwatering.

04. Two apps, one home

From the windowsill to the garden bed. One app, two minds.

Verdie runs indoor care and outdoor planning side by side — and remembers the difference between a pothos in the kitchen and a tomato on a trellis.

05. Daily care, smart reminders

Every kind of care — and reminders that know when to hush.

Watering, feeding, pruning, rotating, repotting, pest checks — every action lives in one queue and surfaces as a push notification exactly when it matters. Smart by default. Tunable to the minute.

06. Wild finds

Found a plant in the wild? Drop it on the map.

Identify a plant in the field and Verdie pins it to your private foraging map — with location, season, and edibility, plus the same research-grade species profile as your houseplants. Build a quiet record of where to find wild raspberries, chanterelles, and ramps.

ii. Backed by real science

Care guidance you can actually trust.

Every recommendation in Verdie is sourced from peer-reviewed horticultural literature and university extension publications. Light, water, humidity, and feeding ranges are drawn from cited sources — not blog posts, not made up by a chatbot.

i. Sourced

Drawn from cited research.

Every care range traces back to peer-reviewed literature or recognized extension publications, not aggregated blog content.

ii. Specific

Tuned to your plant.

Care is calibrated per species — and per pot, per spot, per home — instead of a one-size-fits-all care card.

iii. Honest

Verifiable, always.

If a recommendation cites a source, you can read it. If a fact is uncertain, we say so.

iii. Common questions

Everything you might want to know.
