Cookie Policy

Last updated May 13, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Verdie uses cookies, similar tracking technologies, and device-local storage when you use our website at verdie.ca and our mobile application. It complements the cookies section of our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.

Cookies on our website

On verdie.ca we may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to gather information when you interact with the site. Some of these help us maintain security, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, and assist with basic site functions.

We also permit third parties and service providers to use online tracking technologies for analytics and advertising, including to help manage and display advertisements, to tailor advertisements to your interests, or to send abandoned cart reminders (depending on your communication preferences).

To the extent these tracking technologies are deemed a "sale" or "sharing" (which includes targeted advertising, as defined under applicable laws) under US state privacy laws, you can opt out as described in the "Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?" section of our Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We may share your information with Google Analytics to track and analyse the use of the Services. The Google Analytics Advertising Features that we may use include Google Display Network Impressions Reporting and Google Analytics Demographics and Interests Reporting. To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across the Services, visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can opt out of Google Analytics Advertising Features through Ads Settings and Ad Settings for mobile apps.

Device storage in the mobile app

The Verdie mobile app does not use browser cookies in the traditional sense, but it does use device-local storage technologies for the same purposes:

• Login tokens, so you stay signed in between sessions.

• Your selected app mode and preferences, so the home screen renders correctly offline.

• A cache of recent plant data, so opening a plant is fast and works without a connection.

Analytics and diagnostics

If you opt in to analytics in the mobile app, we store an anonymous installation identifier so we can group events from the same install. Crash reports include a request id so we can trace problems back to a specific session without identifying you.

Your choices

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject cookies — if you do, this could affect certain features of our Services. In the mobile app you can opt out of analytics at any time from Settings. Signing out clears your login token, and deleting the app removes everything stored locally on the device.
